Juan Cristobal Contiues That Sexy French Vibe

There's been a preponderance of sexy lovestep vibes coming out of France from the likes of Andrea, Stwo, RIT, xxStunned Tomcat, Virgin Minds, Julia Losfelt, and I'm sure there are many more. While they don't have a monopoly on the genre (look at Atu, Bear//face, Kaytranada, etc.), they have a pretty good hold on it. This guy, Juan Cristobal (Soundcloud, Facebook) adds his name to the roster and I'm loving it. The fact that Cristobal's name came to me from a referral from our homey Stwo, makes it even better. we like supporting fam and anyone who's mates with Stwo is worth a check. And luckily for us, this guy's tunes make the cut and very much so!

So get introduced to Juan Cristobal! As you see below, he can do the remixes and the originals with equal skill and he's as regular with posting as us greedy fans all like of our artists we follow. I can't wait to see what comes out next from the dude!

I'm Addicted To Phazz

Press play, sit back, and enjoy the ride. This new tune from Phazz will take you on a musical journey into a sexy space galaxy.

It all begins with a simple wah guitar chord, and then Phazz, as some would say, "drops the bass" right on top of delightfuly pitched and chopped vocals.

Do not sleep on this free download. Cop it here and show Phazz some love on soundcloud and facebook.

Ben Aqua Does Radiohead's Street Spirit So Well

I'm going to start this post with a disclaimer that I am not nor ever have been a Radiohead fanboy. There ARE, though, a few tracks of theirs that I cannot get enough of and Street Spirit, the subject of this Ben Aqua bootleg. You know Ben from past posts (HERE and HERE) and you know that his tunes are always of the Grade A quality, and this remix, while more minimal than his usual fare, is probably the best way to approach a Radiohead track. THiNK says this and I tend to agree, that bootlegging Radiohead responsibly and respectfully is difficult enough, and Ben has done so very well.

So yeah, enjoy this one, then enjoy it again, and again.....and again, and follow Aqua (Soundcloud, Facebook) for more goodies.

Goin' Nowhere With CESRV And Liking It

I've really been digging the scene in Brazil lately and this guy, CESRV is a big reason why.  Alerted to his presence by way of a really great Brazilian blog Volta, it wasn't long before I had ripped through his entire catalogue and dug on his different projects/releases.  The tunes below are from his most recent EP, Nowhere, from April, and it's a great peek into what his production is all about.  Beats with depth and soul are what really draw me in and this guy has that in spades.

So check out the EP (HERE), check out more from CESRV (Soundcloud, Facebook) and look out for more on here from his countrymen.

Devil music from ZDS

The production trio of Screenager, Halogen, and Z-Whip better known as Zen Death Squad (Facebook, Soundcloud) has returned again with the second installment of their musical trilogy. This time the track is not an ambient trip through proper sound design ("Where The Whales Sleep") instead it is a pure face-melter of a track, aptly entitled "Oni Valley". To accompany this sonic barrage of devil inspired music is a video animated and directed by Bruno Costarelli. The video gives us a tripped out narrative of stranded pilots who fall victim to the keytar playing pyramid spirits who in habit the valley. Between the excellent delivery of both "Where The Whales Sleep and "Oni Valley" we are really excited to hear what the third installment from ZDS brings us this year.

Snakehips Remixing Banks is SO Good

Banks plus SnakeHips...not going to say much else, nor do I.  The two make great music on their own and when the two combine it's like Wonder Twins Power Activated.  These soulful vibes are what we really need more of in music today.

Ambassadeurs Brings Trouble

A new EP dropped from Ambassadeurs on Monday and if you haven't copped it yet, get on it forthwith!  It's quite the goodness and since you know of Ambassadeurs from HERE or HERE or even HERE, this acquisition makes all the sense in the world.  For those who might expect indie dance all the way through, you might want to re-calibrate those expectations.  The chilled out 4 to the floor beat that permeates a lot of his production isn't prevalent in this 6 track EP.  It's there, but y'know, you can still dance to the other stuff too!

So 6 tracks of goodness from Ambassadeurs and available through Beatport or iTunes  for your mid-week treat and something that you should enjoy heartily all the way through.
